Colchicum are a range of unusual bulbs that tend to flower in autumn, their foliage appearing later. Colchicum 'Violet Queen' has one to five funnel-shaped pinkish-violet flowers, scented. It makes great underplanting for roses.

Plant in deep, fertile well drained soil, in a sunny postion. Generally Colchicum do not like to be wet - so avoid overwatering.
